BMW 5 Series E39

1. Check oil level, if necessary add.
2 Pass on the car, having warmed up the engine. Temperature of oil has to make about +80 °C.

3. The relay of pressure of the index of oil is on the case of an oil filter. Turn off a bolt (2) uncover an oil filter that oil flew down back in the engine. Address an accompanying illustration.

4. Disconnect a cable from the relay of the index of pressure of oil (12) and turn out it.

5. Instead of the relay screw the manometer.
6. Fix a cover of an oil filter.
7. Start the engine on single turns. Oil pressure for all engines has to be not less than 0.5 bars.
8. Increase engine speed to 5000 - 6000 rpm. Pressure of oil has to be between 4.0 (for the diesel engine 3.8) and 4.7 bars.
9. Insert pressure relay with a new sealing ring and tighten its moment 20 Nanometers. Attach a cable.
10. Fix a cover on the case of an oil filter by the moment of 20 Nanometers.
11. If pressure of oil differs from a preset value, address the Section Diagnostics of Malfunctions of the Lubrication System.
