Check of productivity of the fuel pump

| At the diesel engine pressure of fuel is checked in the pipeline between the filter and the fuel pump of high pressure (FPHP).
You monitor surely good ventilation of a workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous. Do not use naked flame, you do not smoke. Risk of fire! You keep in readiness the fire extinguisher. |
Condition for exact check is the serviceable and charged rechargeable battery.

1. Disconnect a hose of return of fuel (2) from the distributive highway, previously having opened collars. Address an accompanying illustration.
| | The fuel system is under pressure. Wipe the flowed-out fuel with a rag. Replace collars at installation with new. |

| At some models the hose of supply of fuel is attached directly to the distributive highway. At its installation surely replace a sealing ring with new, having greased previously with vaseline. Other execution provides fastening of fuel hoses clips. In this case removal of clips requires the special BMW 16 1 050 tool. Before installation check a sealing ring. In the presence of damages replace it. |

2. Send a hose of return of fuel from the distributive highway to a measuring vessel with a capacity about 2 l.
4. Disconnect the relay of the fuel pump. The relay is in the relay block at the left behind in a motive compartment.
5. Connect at the relay basis the conductor of the plug 30 and 87b (diameter of 1.5 mm) and turn on the relay approximately on 30 with, address the Section Check of the Relay of the Fuel Pump.
6. Productivity of the fuel pump for 30 with has to make near
1 l. (Current of the pump makes about 9.5 And).
7. If productivity of the pump is less, replace the fuel filter and again check the pump. If now giving is small, replace the pump. |
