Check of injectors

Injectors give fuel pulsewise. At the same time the injection has the conical form. After the end of injection the gate of an injector is densely closed. Leakage of injectors leads to difficulties at start of the heated-up engine. Faulty injectors lead to operation of the engine after its switching off for some time and lead to interruptions.


1. Uncover injectors.
2. Start the engine on single turns.
3. On the working engine a stethoscope listen to each injector. Gates of injectors have to click when opening and closing.
4. If there is no stethoscope, it is possible to put the screw-driver or a finger.
5. If unusual noise or absence it is found, it is necessary to check tension, resistance and tightness of injectors.

Check of tension and resistance of injectors


1. Check tension. For this purpose to a rasstykuyta shtekerny connection of injectors also attach a diode control lamp between contacts of wires of food. Include a starter. The light-emitting diode has to blink.
2. If the diode does not blink, wire breakage or malfunction of the control unit can be the cause.
3. Switch off ignition.
4. Attach an ohmmeter between both contacts on each injector and measure resistance. If resistance differs from set, replace an injector. Resistance has to be 15 — 17.5 Ohms.
5. If necessary replace a faulty injector.

Tightness check


1. Remove injectors. Do not disconnect fuel-supply lines from the distributive highway.
2. Attach a plug to injectors.
3. Lower injectors in capacity.
4. Ask the assistant several seconds to press a starter. Compare the nature of injection of injectors among themselves. All injectors have to have a cone-shaped injection and identical.
5. Switch off ignition.
6. Disconnect a plug level of injectors.
7. Include on 5 about ignition, without including a starter. Check tightness: within one minute one drop, has to be formed no more.
8. Establish injectors.

BMW tightness is checked for HUNDRED by compressed air. Untight injectors are processed in the ultrasonic device of cleaning by means of a cleaner.
