Security measures for cars with the catalytic converter

For an exception of damages of the sensor of oxygen and the catalytic converter it is necessary to observe the following requirements:

Petrol engines

      •  Surely apply only unleaded gasoline.
      •  Start of the heated-up engine by towage of the car or its pushing is not allowed. Not burned down fuel at ignition can lead to an overheat of the catalytic converter and its destruction.
      •  At difficulties in start of the engine it is not necessary to include a starter too long. It is necessary to reveal and remove a cause of defect.
      •  Never spend fuel in a gasoline tank completely.
      •  At emergence of interruptions in ignition do not increase the speed of the engine and immediately eliminate malfunction.
      •  Apply only the spark plugs resolved by the manufacturer.
      •  You do not carry out an inspection of a spark at the disconnected candle plug.
      •  It is not allowed to carry out an inspection of operation of cylinders by shutdown of ignition of any cylinder. At shutdown of any cylinder, for example when checking the engine, not burned down fuel gets to the catalytic converter.

Petrol and diesel engines

      •  It is not necessary to put the car over a dry grass or foliage. The system of release around the catalytic converter is strongly warmed and radiates heat able to cause the fire.
      •  Do not cover the catalytic converter with means for protection of the bottom of the car against corrosion.
      •  Do not change the heat-shielding screen of system of production of the fulfilled gases.
      •  When filling system with motive oil you watch that level it did not exceed the mark Maximum in the index of level at all. Owing to incomplete combustion of oil it can get to the catalytic converter and damage or even completely to destroy precious metals.
