BMW 5 Series E39

1. Remove a box of the filter of clean air in a motive compartment behind on the right. It will provide access to the block of safety locks and the relay.

2. Uncover the block of safety locks, having turned off fastening bolts.

3. Disconnect the relay of preliminary heating (1). 2 - DDE control unit. Address an accompanying illustration.

4. Check a safety lock on 80 A near the connecting plug. If it failed, replace. Previously find out the overload reason. Address an accompanying illustration.

5. Disconnect a thick positive wire from the relay case.
On an illustration the scheme of connection of the relay of preheat is shown. The similar scheme is available on a relay cover.
G1... G6: glow plugs 1... 6;
Kl. 15: plus connected by means of the ignition switch;
Kl. 30: plus rechargeable battery;
Ust: the operating tension (from the DME control unit);
Dia: connection of diagnostics

6. Attach the rechargeable battery and the device for check of tension to the plug of the plug 15 and to weight. Include ignition. The light-emitting diode of the device has to light up. Otherwise check giving of tension from the ignition lock.

7. If the light-emitting diode lights up, check a wire to glow plugs. If necessary replace it. If it does not help, replace the preheat relay.

8. Establish into place a control unit cover.

9. Close the block. Install into place the filter of purification of air of salon.
