Security measures during the work with system of ignition

In electronic system of ignition tension reaches 40 kV. Under adverse conditions, for example, of humidity in a motive compartment, throws of tension can punch isolation that in turn can lead to electric blow.

For an exception of traumatizing people and/or damage of electronic system of ignition it is necessary to observe the following security measures:

• It is necessary to wash the engine only after its switching off.

• By production of welding works it is necessary to disconnect all cables of the rechargeable battery.

• It is not necessary to switch off the generator and a starter at the working engine.

When checking a compression surely switch-off the main relay (1) DME to exclude operation of the coil of ignition. (2 - DME safety locks). Address an accompanying illustration. Check a compression, address the Section Check of a Compression.

• Wires of system of ignition need to be disconnected only at the switched-off ignition.

• Connection and shutdown of wires of measuring devices (an ignition tachometer/tester) need to be made only at the switched-off ignition.

• Primary party (the party of high voltage, the party of spark plugs) of system of ignition has to be loaded with a resistance at least 4 kOhm. Plugs of spark plugs have to be attached.

• It is impossible to start the engine at the cable disconnected from the ignition coil (plug 4) at all.

• It is not necessary to attach to the plug 1 (-) of the ignition coil the noise suppressing condenser and a control lamp.

• It is not necessary to connect the plug of 1 coil of ignition to the weight or the rechargeable battery. At the subsequent installation of the anticreeping alarm system it is impossible to use a wire to the plug 1 for start-up blocking.

• It is impossible to start the engine right after heating to temperature more than + 80 °C (for example, when painting, processing the ferry).

• It is not necessary to carry out works with electronic system of ignition to the persons having a warm stimulator.
