Check and utilization of the shock-absorber

Signs of the damaged shock-absorbers are:
   a) Big amplitude of fluctuations of a body at movement along the uneven road.
   b) Increase of amplitude of fluctuations of a body at the movement on the following one after another to roughnesses of the road.
   c) Jumping of wheels at the movement on the normal road.
   d) An involuntary turn of the car when braking (can be a consequence of other reasons).
   e) Instability at turn owing to a bad continence of a track and a drift of the car.
   f) The increased wear of tires with a cut of tops (washing away) of a profile.

The shock-absorber can be checked manually. Exact check of operation of the shock-absorber is possible only with the help shock tester or devices for control of shock-absorbers.

Check manually

 CHECK

1. Remove the shock-absorber.

2. Take the shock-absorber hands into position. Squeeze and unclench the shock-absorber not less than three times. At the same time the shock-absorber has to move evenly without breakthroughs and without emergence of unusual noise.

3. Completely press a rod of the shock-absorber and release it. The rod has to move forward with a uniform speed.
4. During the normal work existence of small traces of oil is not a sign of malfunction of the shock-absorber.
5. At considerable loss of oil the shock-absorber needs to be replaced.
6. Install the shock-absorber.

Utilization of the shock-absorber

The shock-absorber is filled with oil. It is necessary to hand over the fulfilled oil in special collection points.

In auto repair shops from shock-absorbers before utilization gas is removed. It becomes as follows.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Clamp the shock-absorber vertically a rod down.

2. Drill at distance 20 mm from the shock-absorber bottom an opening of Ø of 3 mm. Through an opening there is a colourless, not having a smell and not poisonous gas.
3. At distance of 60 mm from the bottom drill one more opening of Ø of 5 mm for an oil exit.
4. Movements of a rod of the shock-absorber extort oil and bring together him in capacity.

Do not pour out the fulfilled oil together with household waste. Shock-absorber oil mineral and according to the existing order has to be utilized together with motive oil.
