Locking devices and anticreeping alarm system

Keys

1 — the Key from the uniform lock with illumination (inclusion is made by pressing of a symbol of BMW)
2 — the Spare key for storage in the reliable place, for example in a wallet. This key is not intended for continuous use
3 — the Key from doors and the lock of ignition
This key does not approach locks of a luggage carrier and a ware box. It is convenient when you hand over the car, for example, on the parking in hotel

Spare key

You can receive it only on CTOA BMW which is obliged to check the identity of the customer as the key is a component of system of safety of your car.

Electronic anticreeping system

Key as instrument for ensuring of safety

The electronic anticreeping system increases degree of protection of your BMW against stealing. She allows to start the engine only keys from your car. At your request on CTOA BMW electronic schemes of separate keys can be blocked (for example, at loss). The blocked key it is impossible to start the engine.

The electronic scheme is built in a key. Electronics in the car exchanges via the ignition lock individual for each car and constantly changing signals with the electronic block in a key. Systems of ignition, supply of fuel and a starter join only if the key is distinguished as "".

At the inaccurate address with a key the built-in electronic scheme can be damaged. In that case start of the engine will be impossible.

Uniform lock

Principle of action

The uniform lock works only if both forward doors are closed. The uniform lock provides simultaneous locking and, respectively, unlocking of doors, a luggage carrier and a cover of the filling hatch. It is possible to put it in action outside, having inserted a key into the lock of a door or a luggage carrier, and also by means of remote radio control * or from salon, having pressed the special button or having involved safety locks of doors.

At involvement of the uniform lock outside at the same time there is an activization of anticreeping system which does not allow to unlock doors safety locks or handles of opening. Also becomes more active (or it is deactivated) security сигнализация*.

Except the "Turn on the Light in Salon" and "Open a Luggage Carrier" functions, all functions realized by means of remote radio control can be executed by turn of a key in the lock.

In case of accident there is an automatic unblocking of the uniform lock, but doors locked on safety locks do not open. Besides, the alarm light system and light in salon turn on.

Doors (outside)

Unlocking and locking

Do not lock the car if in salon there are people as it will be impossible to open doors from within.
At some export models the security alarm system can be made active only by means of remote radio control. Unlocking of the car a key from the uniform lock causes operation of the alarm system in these models. For switching off of the alarm system press the button 1 (to Unlock) or start the engine.

You will find other details about the security alarm system in the subsection "Security Alarm System" below.

Automatic opening and closing

You can open or close electrodriving glasses and a lifting and movable cover of the hatch, having turned a key in the lock of a door of the driver.

Opening

At the closed door hold a key in situation "Unlock".

Closing

At an open door hold a key in situation "Lock".

If you release a key, then the movement of glasses and a cover of the hatch will stop.

Emergency use of the lock (at defect of electric equipment)

Having turned a key in the relevant provision, it is possible to unlock or lock the driver's door.

Remote radio control *

Unlocking

Press the button 1.
At the same time there is an unblocking of anticreeping system, deactivation of the security alarm system * and inclusion of light in salon.
At some export models by the first pressing of the button only the driver's door opens, by repeated pressing - all other locks which are a part of system of the uniform lock.

Automatic opening

Electrodriving glasses and lifting and movable cover of the hatch can be discovered by means of remote radio control.

Hold the button 1 in the pressed situation. If you release the button, then process of opening of glasses and a cover of the hatch will at once stop.

Locking and statement on the alarm system

Press the button 2.

At the same time there is an activization of anticreeping system and the security alarm system.

Do not lock the car if in salon there are people as it will be impossible to open doors from within.

Automatic closing

Electrodriving glasses and lifting and movable cover of the hatch can be closed by means of remote radio control.

Hold the button 2 in the pressed situation. If you release the button, then process of closing of glasses and a cover of the hatch will at once stop.

For safety reasons automatic opening and closing of glasses and a lifting and movable cover of the hatch perhaps only on small removal (about 2 m) from the car. This distance can vary depending on the external hindrances influencing remote radio control.

During process of closing you watch that jammed nobody glasses or a cover of the hatch. If you release the button, then closing process will stop at once.

If on the car equipped with the security alarm system, process of automatic closing of glasses and a cover of the hatch is interrupted, then it is necessary to unlock once again the car pressing of the button 1 before continuing closing process. Otherwise the security sensor of a list and radio system of protection of salon will be switched off.

Inclusion of light in salon

Without unlocking the car, press the button 2.

Realization of this function will allow you - at the corresponding radius of action of remote control - easier to find the car on the parking.

Shutdown of the security sensor of a list

Without unlocking the car, again press the button 2.

At the same time also the radio system of protection of salon (address the subsection "Security Alarm System") which is a part of the security alarm system will be switched off.

Opening of a luggage carrier

Press the button 3.

The trunk lid will a little be slightly opened irrespective of, they it was locked or not.

Keys from the uniform lock

Keys with the transmitter of remote radio control are keys from the uniform lock.

On a door of the forward passenger the lock is absent. It is made for increase in anticreeping safety of the car.

At some export models the security alarm system can be made active only by means of remote radio control. Unlocking of the uniform lock causes operation of the alarm system in these models. For switching off of the alarm system press the button 1 (to Unlock) or start the engine.
The children who are in the car can lock doors from within. Therefore, going out of the car, always take out a key from the lock of ignition and take it with yourself at any time to have an opportunity again to open the car outside.

Identical frequencies

In some areas work of remote radio control can be broken as other systems or devices can use the same frequency.

Doors (from within)

This button allows to put at the closed forward doors in action system of the uniform lock. All doors, a luggage carrier and a cover of the filling hatch open as a result or locked, but activization of anticreeping system at the same time does not happen.

UNLOCKING AND OPENING

For this purpose there are two opportunities:
1. Unlock all doors, having pressed the button of the uniform lock, and then pull for the handle which is over an armrest of the necessary door.
2. Pull the handle of the necessary door twice: the first movement will allow to unlock a door, and the second — to open it.

LOCKING

For this purpose there are two opportunities:
1. Lock all doors, having pressed the button of the uniform lock
2. Drown safety locks of doors. In order to avoid inadvertent locking it is impossible to lock an open door of the driver, having drowned its safety lock.

In case of accident of a door, locked on safety locks, automatically do not open. Therefore at the movement of the car it is not necessary to lock doors on safety locks.

The children who are in the car can lock doors from within. Therefore, going out of the car, always take out a key from the lock of ignition and take it with yourself at any time to have an opportunity again to open the car outside.

Luggage carrier

Only keys from the uniform lock approach a luggage carrier (address the subsection "Keys")

Separate locking of a luggage carrier

Having made some effort, turn a key to the right and take it in horizontal position.

Thus, the luggage carrier is locked, and its lock is switched-off from system of the uniform lock. As a result of people, for example, the employee of hotel who received from you a key 3 from a door and the lock of ignition (address the subsection "Keys"), will not be able to open a luggage carrier.

Opening outside

Press the button. The luggage carrier will open.

Emergency use of the luggage carrier lock
(at defect of electric equipment)

Insert a key from the uniform lock into the lock of a luggage carrier and turn it to the left against the stop - the luggage carrier will open.

The luggage carrier is again locked as soon as its cover is shut.

Opening from salon

If the lock of a luggage carrier is not put under control of the security alarm system, then it can be opened, having pressed this кнопку*. At the movement of the car it is impossible to open a luggage carrier by means of this button.

Tension belts

For fixing of undersized baggage use tension belts on the luggage carrier bottom.
If you put things on these belts, then their rough surface will prevent the shift of things during the movement.
On corners of a luggage carrier the special loops intended for fastening of the cargo holding grids * or belts which fix separate things are provided.

Hook

At the left in a luggage carrier there is a hook on which it is possible to hang up shopping bags, etc. objects.

Closing of a trunk lid

The handle (it is shown by an arrow) close to the locking mechanism facilitates closing of a trunk lid.

In order to avoid hit of exhaust gases in salon the trunk lid at the movement of the car has to be surely closed. If once you nevertheless have to go with the lifted cover, then:
1. Close all glasses and a lifting and movable cover of the hatch.
2. Systems of heating and ventilation or the automatic conditioner establish on the mode of the strengthened air supply.

Security alarm system *

The security alarm system reacts on:
- opening of a door, cowl or trunk lid
- the movement in interior of the car (radio system of protection of salon)
- change of a list of the car, for example, in attempt of theft of a wheel or towage
- interruption of power supply from the accumulator

The system reacts to the called actions of strangers as follows:
- within 30 seconds the alarm signal sounds
- for 5 minutes the alarm light system * turns on
- passing beam blinks synchronously with the alarm light system *

Statement on the alarm system and removal from the alarm system

Statement on the alarm system and removal from the alarm system are made along with locking and unlocking of the car by turn of a key in any lock or by means of remote radio control.

The radio system of protection of salon becomes more active approximately in 30 seconds after the last turn of a key in the lock.

If statement on the alarm system is executed properly, then single operation emergency light сигнализации* testifies to it.

The luggage carrier can be opened also after statement on the security alarm system if to press the button 3 of remote radio control. After closing of a trunk lid it is again taken under control of the security alarm system.

At some export models the security alarm system can be involved only by means of remote radio control. Unlocking of the car a key from the uniform lock causes operation of the alarm system in these models. (To Unlock) pressing of the button 1 or start of the engine switches-off the alarm system.

Signals of a control lamp

Constantly the control lamp under a rear-view mirror in salon burns: the security alarm system is made active

The control lamp blinks at statement on the alarm system: doors, a cowl or a trunk lid are leaky closed. Even if to leave everything as it is, other correctly closed objects will be taken under protection, the lamp later will begin to burn 10 seconds constantly. However the radio system of protection of salon is not made active.

The control lamp dies away at removal from the alarm system: the unlawful manipulations with the car it was not made.

The control lamp blinks approximately within 10 seconds at removal from the alarm system: signal of the fact of foreign intervention.

After operation of the alarm system the control lamp will burn constantly again.

Security sensor of a list

In order to avoid giving of an alarm signal at spontaneous operation of the security sensor of a list (for example, in a two-story garage or in transit the car by rail) or as a result of operation of radio system of protection of salon these systems can be disconnected at the same time.

Lock the car twice, that is put it on the alarm system twice. In other words, press the button 2 of remote radio control twice or two times lock the car a key.

The control lamp will shortly flash, and then will constantly burn. The sensor of a list and radio system of protection of salon will be switched off until the car is removed from the alarm system.

Radio system of protection of salon

For faultless functioning of radio system of protection of salon it is necessary to close glasses and a lifting and movable cover of the hatch.

Switch off system of radio protection of salon if:
- in the car there have to be children or animals;
- there have to be open windows or the hatch in a roof.

Interruption of process of closing of a lifting and movable cover of the hatch and glasses within the first 10 seconds and its immediate renewal lead to switching off of the security sensor of a list and radio system of protection of salon. If it happens, then for the return turning on of the sensor of a list and radio system of protection of salon it is necessary to switch-off the security alarm system and again to involve it.

Emergency shutdown of the alarm system *

If normal shutdown of the security alarm system on the locked car is impossible, then it is necessary to work as follows:

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Unlock a door a key (at the same time within 30 seconds the alarm signal will sound).
2. Take the wheel, close behind yourself a door and even before interruption in supply of a sound signal insert a key into the lock of ignition and turn it in situation 1.
3. Wait until the control lamp goes out, and the uniform lock will work on unlocking of other doors (approximately in 10 minutes). During this time do not open the door, and the key in the lock of ignition has to remain in situation 1.

As a result the security alarm system will be switched-off, but it is necessary to address on CTOA BMW for its check.
