Starter General information The small electric motor - a starter is necessary for start of the internal combustion engine. That the engine was started, it is necessary to untwist it a starter to 300 rpm. It is possible only during the reliable work of a starter and sufficient degree of a charge of the rechargeable battery. The starter consists of a driving part, polar and collector. In a polar and collector part there are an anchor and a collector, and also the brush holder. In the brush holder there are brushes which with confluence of time wear out. At big wear of brushes reliability of work of a starter decreases. In a forward part of the case of a starter the drive gear wheel is placed. If via the ignition switch on a starter tension, then the electromagnetic relay located on the starter case moves enters into gearing with a gear wreath of a flywheel of the engine the gear wheel sitting on a starter shaft. After that the starter can untwist the engine on necessary speed. After start of the engine the number of its turns exceeds starter speed. The starter leaves gearing with the engine. Start of the engine requires big current. Therefore when carrying out maintenance it is necessary to pay attention to reliable connection of cables. The available corrosion needs to be smoothed out, and contacts need to be greased with protective lubricant.
