Removal and installation of the rechargeable battery

The rechargeable battery is in a luggage carrier behind the right side facing. The problem of the battery includes production of current for start of the car, ignition and for lighting, and also for other consumers of the electric power.

Owing to shutdown of the rechargeable battery deleting of information in electronic blocks of memory of the car is possible:

   a) Information from some electronic monitors can be erased.
   b) In the radio receiver with the coding the code is erased. Such receiver can be recognized by the inscription "CODE" appearing for several seconds on the display after inclusion. If the code is unknown, it will not be possible to use the receiver. The code is specified on the special card delivered together with the radio receiver or can be received at the manufacturer.
   c) The radio-transmitting stations entered into memory of the receiver are also erased. Installation of onboard hours and data of the on-board computer is erased.
   d) The movable panel of the hatch of a roof after installation of the rechargeable battery has to be initialized anew.
   e) Data in memory of malfunctions of the control unit of the engine are erased.

 REMOVAL

1. Switch off ignition.

2. Open a luggage carrier and cast away the right side facing at the handle.

3. Take out a plastic cover from a cover.

4. Disconnect cables of the rechargeable battery. At first cable of weight(s) (1), then positive cable (+) (2). Connection of a positive cable is closed by a level, take out it. Address an accompanying illustration.

5. Turn off a bolt (3) and a nut (4).

6. Remove a level (5) and a cover of the rechargeable battery (6) of black color.

Take out the plastic remote holder (arrow).

Displace the rechargeable battery a little back, looking in the direction of the movement, and take out it from the holder.

Disconnect a ventilating hose at a forward edge of the battery.

Cast away handles and take out the battery.


The rechargeable battery contains toxic agents. Their hit in household waste is not allowed. Upon purchase of the new battery old hand over or utilize in a special way. Information on collection points for rechargeable batteries can be obtained in local authorities.


INSTALLATION

1. Before installation of the rechargeable battery smooth out its poles, for example a brass brush. For protection against corrosion cover poles with special kislotozashchitny lubricant, for example lubricant for BOSCH poles.
2. Install the rechargeable battery so that poles showed towards a wing.
3. Put on a ventilation hose at a forward top edge.
4. Displace the rechargeable battery forward against the stop. The basis of the battery has to be in the holder.
5. Insert the plastic remote holder.
6. Establish a cover and a collar of fastening.
7. Fix a collar.
8. Attach a positive cable (+), then negative. Establish a cover of a positive pole.

You monitor reliable connection of weight and purity of contacts. High transitional resistance can lead to an overload of electronic devices, especially at start of the engine. In extreme cases it can lead to damage of devices

9. Insert a plastic cover into a cover and put into place side facing.
10. Establish hours. Enter the radio-transmitting stations into memory of the radio receiver.
11. Initialize the movable panel of the hatch of a roof, address the Section Removal and installation of the electric motor of the movable panel of the hatch of a roof.
12. If it is necessary, enter a radio receiver code.
