Check of the rechargeable battery

Check of level of electrolyte

Electrolyte level has to be in separate sections between the marks MIN (1) and MAX (2). If level is lower, remove traffic jams (3) and add the distilled water.

Check of tension

Tension characterizes a condition of the rechargeable battery and is measured by the voltmeter between separate poles of the battery.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Switch-off the rechargeable battery, address the Section Removal and installation of the rechargeable battery.

2. Before check the battery has to be not less than 2 hours disconnected.

3. Attach the voltmeter to poles of the rechargeable battery and measure tension. Address an accompanying illustration.
If tension makes: 12.7 In or above - the battery in good shape
12.5 In - the battery in the normal state
12.3 In or below - the battery in bad condition, is necessary charging or replacement

4. Attach the battery, address the Section Removal and installation of the rechargeable battery.

Check of the rechargeable battery under loading

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Attach the voltmeter to battery poles.
2. Start the engine and check tension.
3. At engine launch at completely charged battery tension should not fall lower than 10 V (at a temperature of electrolyte about +20 °C).
4. If tension sharply falls and density of electrolyte in various sections is various, the battery is damaged and it needs to be replaced.

Check of density of electrolyte
(does not treat the unattended rechargeable battery)

Electrolyte density together with tension give an idea of a condition of state of charge of the battery.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove traffic jams from the battery.

2. For check of density of electrolyte serves денсиметр. The electrolyte density is higher, the float of a densimetr emerges above. On a scale of a densimetr it is possible to establish electrolyte density in g/ml or Baume's degrees (+ ° to Ve). Characteristics of a charge of the rechargeable battery are provided in Specifications.
