BMW 5 Series E39

1. If an emphasis with pushers is established, press a pusher into an emphasis and in this situation the crosswise screw-driver slightly turn it to the left. Thus, pushers are fixed in an emphasis.

2. Turn out an emphasis.

Fix a trunk lid from spontaneous falling.

3. Remove a gas-filled emphasis.

4. Weaken bolts (1) and (2) at the left and on the right.

5. Release the lower part of the lock of a trunk lid (1) so that it could be displaced sideways and on height. For this purpose displace a peak in facing of a luggage carrier.

6. Carefully close a trunk lid and shift sideways so that the gap in interface to wings was identical (the admission ± 1 mm).
7. Carefully open a trunk lid.
8. Fix a cover and check its situation, if necessary repeat adjustment.
9. Open a cover.
10. Check serviceability of mobile elements (2) in the lower part of the lock. If necessary replace them.
11. Close a cover.
12. Check cover height in relation to wings. The cover has to settle down aflush with wings (the admission ± 1 mm).
13. Otherwise measure excess and besiege a cover down at the corresponding size.
14. Check adjustment. If necessary repeat it.
15. Open a trunk lid.
16. Screw an emphasis so that the closed trunk lid lay on an emphasis at the left and on the right.

The trunk lid should not be above wings as differently there will be tension at adjustment on height.

17. At an emphasis with pushers turn the crosswise screw-driver a pusher slightly to the right. Thus, an emphasis is released and leaves.
